Rachel and Mike panic, and telephone the police when Josh comes home without Beth. When she is brought home by the police, Bev realises that he left her at the shops and lied about it.

But although Gary does his best to see that Jacqui and Max's marriage is also wrecked, Max finally realises that Jacqui wasn't having an affair after all.
