June 1965. During his three years as head of militia Rodion Stotskiy has turned Gurzuf into the most peaceful place on the southern coast of Crimea. Even the beach con men here prefer not to take action. The murder of a cashier and a militioner during the attack on a car carrying salaries to “Artek” becomes his personal challenge.

But during one of the interrogations, Stotskiy realizes, that during all this time he’d been nothing but pawn in someone’s hands.
