He tells her his name is Barnabas Collins - the name of the man in the portrait that is hanging in the foyer at that moment.

Maggie meets Barnabas, however he and Willie are forced to leave her behind when Burke and Victoria arrive and find Maggie. Barnabas and Willie hide in the secret room in the Collins Mausoleum. Barnabas beats Willie for betraying him. After getting Maggie home everyone discovers the fang marks on her neck.

The nurse tells Dr. Woodard that there was every indication that Maggie was dead.
