The Purim celebration is in full swing, and the residents of the transit camp are competing in teams in an internal costume contest, with the winners set to represent the camp in the regional competition and stand a chance to win a year’s supply of groceries. Vahu is persuaded by his friends to steal the bottles of alcohol his father is distributing to the neighbors from his Purim gift baskets, in order to sell them at the costume contest. Gershon, the camp director, and his deputy, Giora, struggle to deal with Rahamim, the lone resident who refuses to vacate the large shack he was temporarily assigned. Noam, the Indian boy, falls in love with Eliza, Eliyahu’s daughter.
