In 1880, the young, brave firefighter Ignacij Merhar from Prigorica commanded his company in the Slovenian language during the Ljubljana firemen's parade. With this, he upset the authorities at the time, which is why he was temporarily detained. Due to public pressure, the lawsuit was dropped and he was released.
