Ara is raised by her father, Amar, after her mother, Murni, dies in a road accident. Amar loves the late Murni too much. Amar's family begins to think about Ara who is growing up and needs the love and care of a mother. They suggest that Amar remarry. Amar is eventually forced to break his promise and marries Maria, a girl chosen by his parents. He does this for Ara's sake.
