Gooré and Kalou maintain a deep friendship. The first is a talented drummer, while the second excels in the art of dance. One day, during a hunting trip, Gooré, through an unfortunate combination of circumstances, accidentally takes Kalou's life. Despite the negative result of the Zri, a traditional test supposed to establish the guilt or innocence of an individual and from which Gooré emerges unscathed, the villagers accuse him of having murdered his friend out of jealousy.
