Synopsis
Os Ricos Também Choram is a Brazilian telenovela produced by SBT and originally broadcast from July 18, 2005, to January 14, 2006. It is a Brazilian adaptation of the Mexican telenovela Los ricos también lloran (1979), based on the original story by Inés Rodena. Adapted by Gustavo Reiz and Aimar Labaki, with collaboration from Marcos Lazarini, the telenovela stars Thaís Fersoza, Márcio Kieling, Ludmila Dayer, Mika Lins, Françoise Forton, and Jonas Bloch. The story follows Mariana, a young woman raised on a farm without knowing she is the illegitimate daughter and rightful heir of the late Colonel Evaristo Martins. After being driven away from her home, she moves to the town of Ouro Verde, where she falls in love with Alberto Domingues. As she uncovers the truth about her origins, Mariana must face greed, family rivalries, betrayal, and powerful enemies determined to steal her inheritance.
