Shankar Shanmugam is an Indian film director, film producer and screenwriter who works predominantly in Tamil cinema. He has directed several of the highest grossing films in Tamil cinema to date. His 2018 venture 2.0 is the highest grossing Tamil film of all time and the tenth highest grossing Indian film overall. Shankar's works typically deal with contemporary social issues, vigilante themes and involve the usage of state of the art technology and VFX.
