David Glenn Hogan was born in Memphis, Tennessee, and studied art at The Art Academy, and then Memphis State University. Before beginning his career in music videos, film and commercials; he opened a commercial art studio in Memphis at age 22, where he designed album covers for the legendary Stax Records.
