Héctor Moraga Muñoz is a Chilean audiovisual creative, researcher and writer. Co-founder of Wanco Films, his work integrates historical research and creative writing to explore the intersections of memory, identity and territory with a critical and contemporary perspective, with a particular interest in the traces of the past that persist in everyday life. As a filmmaker and researcher, he participates in the conceptualization and narrative development of works that articulate multiple layers of storytelling. In Un cusco en el Mapocho. Stories from the Tahuantinsuyu (2025), his debut as a director, he leads the research and screenplay, building a network of narratives that connects the heritage of the Tahuantinsuyu with the present of the Mapocho River, proposing a situated reading of displacement, identity and memory. Parallel to his audiovisual work, he develops creative writing projects with an emphasis on microfiction, exploring tensions related to memory and identity through minimal forms. He is part of the microfiction anthology En breve (2025). His work seeks to deepen the fissures in dominant narratives, understanding creation as a space where memory is not represented but reconfigured.
