Mychal George Thompson (born January 30, 1955) is a Bahamian sports commentator and former professional basketball player. In the 1978 NBA draft, he was picked first overall as a center out of the University of Minnesota by the Portland Trail Blazers. His twelve-year NBA career included winning two championships with the Los Angeles Lakers during their "Showtime" era. He has been married to Julie Thompson since 1987.
