Synopsis
Adaptation of Zofia Nałkowska’s 1924 novel. Set in Warsaw in the early 1920s, it explores the disillusionment of Poland’s early independence years through the fates of two officers. Lt. Gondziłło, seduced by corrupt elites and a young woman, ends up arrested for fraud. Meanwhile, Col. Omski becomes fatally obsessed with Teresa, the wife of a powerful official.
