Synopsis
Tsarist Russia: Lisa lives apart from her husband Fedya, who drinks too much, wastes his money and hangs around with gypsies. Her mother is pushing for a divorce, especially as her childhood friend Viktor Karenin, a well-to-do and wealthy man, loves her and would take her as his wife.
