Synopsis
The film is devoted to Azimjon Askarov, an ethnic Uzbek, artist and Kyrgyz human rights defender, who had investigated and documented crimes of Kyrgyz law enforcement agencies. In 2010 during interethnic conflicts in the South of Kyrgyzstan (the city of Osh), Askarov was arrested and sentenced to life in prison. In 2020 Askarov died in prison under unclear circumstances.
